Free Work At Home Job: Do You Have The Necessary Skills?

Not all free work at home jobs are scams; there are many legitimate free work at home jobs that pay a decent salary. Most of these jobs though require you to have one very important skill: networking.

Networking is a skill that everyone should have regardless of the industry you work in. However, if you plan to undertake a free work at home job, your skills need to be superior to that of the average person.

Most free work at home jobs involve selling or promoting either yourself or your work at home job. So, what do you do if youre an introverted business owner? If the idea of chit chatting and subtle self promotion makes you want to stay in bed all day then consider the following.

1. Not networking will cost you plenty. This doesnt make sense if youre looking for a free work at home job. Youre trying to minimize your start up costs. But shelling out dollars for someone to do the messy business of marketing for you will cost you plenty.

You may be thinking I wont pay someone to do it for me. But in reality you will. Even if you run a free work at home job, you need to promote yourself in order to make it profitable and if you cant do it yourself then youll eventually have to turn to someone else to do it for you.

2. Networking is your greatest investment opportunity. Whether you operate a free work at home job or youve invested money into a business networking is the greatest investment you can apply to business. Imagine if you could find who or what you needed with just a couple phone calls. Imagine building your down line in less the time When you are well networked you can.

No matter what any work at home ad says you have to promote yourself. Its not an option if you want to be successful with your free work at home job. If youre well networked you dont have to spend money buying leads and you dont have to send countless emails to people you dont know. Youve already taken the time to build a network of people, so you save yourself a lot time and lot of money.

3. Networking isnt as scary or expensive as you think. Chances are, without even thinking, you network on a day to day basis. Youve probably posted a comment on a blog or forum, went out to lunch with someone from church, or uploaded pictures and comments onto a social network site.

Now the trick is to up the ante and start networking for your free work at home job. Join free forums that pertain to your free work at home job. Go that event and discuss yourself and your job with others. Youd be surprised as to how many people are interested. You dont have to go out every day. Attending 1 or 2 events each month can increase your business success potential. The best part is networking online does not have to cost you a cent. There are a number of social networking sites for virtually every industry where you can connect with like mined individuals. A number of them may be as shy as you are.

Remember, just because youre looking for a free work at home job doesnt mean youll be free from the aspect of putting yourself out there. In most cases it means making that extra effort to network. Dont let the idea of networking scare you out of business.

Work From Home Online Tools

Every business has a need for tools to make their tasks easier. The same applies to a work from home online business. Tools will reduce the amount of time needed to perform daily tasks therefore creating a higher productivity output. They can also be used to perform tasks that a webmaster may otherwise need to pay some one to do.

Many work from home online webmasters do not know how to write source code so a tool that comes in very handy is a writer such as the free NVU. With NVU the webmaster can just write in plain text in the normal window and while that is being done the source code is automatically being written in another window called source.

This can be used to write page content for a web page, email campaign, articles or even ads that require source code to make links, names, and images clickable. The code is also what creates the spaces between paragraphs, font sizes, colors, and information that is only seen by the search engines when they crawl your site.

The webmaster can write the content directly into NVU or another tool such as word processor programs like Open Office, Microsoft Works, or Note Tab Light can be used then just copy and paste the content into NVU and instantly get your source code. Which ever way the webmaster feels more comfortable using in their work from home online business will work just fine.

Once the webmaster has finished creating the page for his website then the free tool called FileZilla Client is used to transfer the data to the file manager of the website on the sites server to make it live on the web. Tools like FileZilla are imperative to a webmaster in a work from home online business since that is the only way to transfer data from one's PC to the sites file manager on the server.

For the articles that are written this way they are now ready to be submitted to the article directories by using the copy and paste method. The same method can be used to insert articles or messages into the webmasters auto-responder as well. At anytime that a page from your website needs changes made just use FileZilla to down load that page from your servers file manger to your PC, make the changes in NVU and then use FileZilla to upload the page back to your site.

The auto-responder is one of the most important tools that a webmaster will use in a work from home online business. Auto-responders do have a monthly fee, however you can find them at a variety of monthly fees depending on just how involved you need it to be. Most auto-responder suppliers base their prices on the size of your list, the number of messages you can send each month and the number of special broadcasts that you want to send out each month. All of which will depend on how new your work from home online business is.

The auto-responder is the webmasters work-horse since it works twenty-four hours a day seven days a week. In other words it never stops working. No matter how many different places that you have your lead capture page being exposed on the web it will always send the prospects sign-up information back to your auto-responder and your preloaded messages will be sent to them, which is building your list while you work on other things, sleep, or even take a day off. This one tool is the webmasters totally auto pilot work force once you load your messages. Most work from home online business owners try to set-up at least six months to a year of follow-up messages spaced about three to four days apart. This way they only need to do behind the scenes work for any special broadcasts they wish to send out like special deals or new training that they come up with.

In closing one can see how important just these few tools are to a webmaster that is operating a work from home online business. The great thing about these few are they are all free to down load and use except for the auto-responder which if a webmaster shops around they can find them at very reasonable prices. Just be sure to do your research of the company offering the auto-responder to be sure they deliver what they promise and that they have happy satisfied clients.

Work at Home Typing Jobs - a Growing Trend

If you want to work at home and have good typing skills, working online might be right for you. A growing number of companies are hiring people to work at home typing online. Employers are waking up to the idea that they don’t need to rent office space to keep their employees corralled from 9-5, and they like the idea that they can save all sorts of overheads by employing people to work at home. This arrangement benefits the bosses by saving them money and it benefits the staff by enabling them to work where they want to be: at home.

What sort of home typing jobs are available?

There is no shortage of variety for work at home typists. Work at home typing online jobs include all the clerical/secretarial roles you would expect to find in any office. There are also home typing jobs which are purely internet-based and consist of things such as typing classified advertisements into online forms for companies or typing short articles onto blogs. There is also specialised work at home typing online in fields such as medical billing and medical transcription.

Some work at home typing online jobs are, quite frankly, repetitive and boring. It is best, therefore, to consider exactly what sort of typing work you would enjoy doing day in and day out before you start actively seeking a work at home typing position. If you want easy part time work you can do at home, typing classified advertisements into online forms is an easy way to make money. You can choose your own hours and just work for a couple of hours each day. If you want something more creative, a blog posting job might be more suitable for you.

Do I need experience to get a work at home typing job?

Many work at home typing online jobs require no previous related experience and can be done by anyone with reasonable typing skills. These jobs include the classified ad typing and blog posting positions. The companies hiring people to do this sort of typing work online will provide full training and show you exactly where and how to post the ads and deal with enquiries or feedback.

The main drawback with this type of work is that there is a huge amount of competition (as there is for any work at home job). So, if you have previous experience in medical transcription or customer services, this will give you an advantage if you choose to work in one of those fields.

What about work at home typing online scams?

There are scams relating to work at home and typing online jobs have their share. Some scams are obvious and you can almost “smell” them when you see their advertisements, but others are more difficult to detect. One thing to remember is that you should ask yourself “why would anyone pay me to do that?”. If you can’t think of a single reasonable answer, you could be looking at a scam that will cost you money or, worse still, something that will involve you in illegal activity. If in doubt, let the dubious opportunity pass and carry on looking.

There are plenty of legitimate work at home typing online opportunities around for people of all levels of skill and experience, just remember to be careful to avoid scams and to pick the kind of work you will enjoy doing.

A Work at Home Business Versus a Work at Home Job

Is a work at home business better than a work at home job? You bet. Hands down. But each option has pros and cons, and it may be that for right now you’re just not ready to start a work at home business. Its a big committment. That’s OK. But if you’re dedicated, smart and willing to work harder than most, settling for a work at home job could be selling yourself short.

2 Best Reasons To Start a Work At Home Business

1) Business owners build equity in their business. Work at home job holders just get a weekly paycheck.

If you take a work at home job, you’ll need to continue working, hour by hour, as long as you want the money to come in. When you finally quit your work at home job, the paychecks will stop. If you can start a work at home business, you’ll not only have a steady income once it is up and running, but you’ll have the option to sell your business when the day comes that you no longer want to run it.

Some people launch and grow their businesses with the goal of selling them later; others just get their business started and then decide, say, five years later that they want to get out. Either way works. But getting $150,000 for your business after five years of building it beats the pants off just calling your boss and giving two weeks notice. No employer gives a retirement bonus like that!

2) Business owners can hire people. Work at home employees have to do it all themselves.

As a business owner you can do whatever you like – so long as its profitable. In many cases your business will actually do better the less you work in it, and the more you work on it. So your real job as the boss is to create systems for getting things done, complete with bullter-proof instructions so people can practically train themselves. As soon as each business system is created and running smoothly, the boss (you!) finds someone to follow the directions. Then that new hire does the job you used to do, and you get to either take a break or continue building the company and its profits.

Two Reasons To Just Get A Work At Home Job

1) Starting a Business is Risky.

This is the big factor. Most businesses fail. There are things you can do to radically improve your business’s chances of success (like writing a detailed, real-world business plan and interviewing 3-5 business owners in the same industry you want to go into), but no business plan is perfect. By sticking with a simple work at home job, you can rely on that paycheck and leave how your employer is going to fund that weekly paycheck to someone else.

2) Owning A Business is More Work.

Despite the view that the boss taking it easy in his office while his employees slave away, the business owner may work harder than anyone. The employees, after all, get to go home. The boss may need to keep working until after 10. There’s no passing the buck if you’re the owner – you must either hire somebody to deal with it, or deal with it yourself.

This is the flip side of the benefit of not having to do all the work – yes, you can delegate it all out, but there’s an unbelievable amount of work to do, and most of it all needs to be done all at once. If you aren’t someone who’s comfortable “changing gears” or “wearing many hats”, you either need a flawless business plan (and the will and money to execute it), or realize that working at home as an employee might best for you. As I’ve mentioned, having a business has more benefits, but if getting to those benefits risks you getting a heart attack, stick with a work at home job.
